Shore Cottage

The interior design of Shore Cottage was conceived as a calm, contemporary retreat that responds closely to its dramatic setting overlooking Luskentyre beach. A restrained palette of natural materials, including timber cladding, wood flooring and limewash textured walls, was used to create warmth and a serene, spa like atmosphere throughout the 200m² home. The interiors were carefully dressed with a mix of contemporary pieces and vintage finds to add depth and character, with furniture arranged to encourage relaxed socialising across the open-plan living, dining and kitchen spaces. Bespoke elements such as custom headboards, tailored soft furnishings and Harris Tweed textiles introduce tactile comfort, while subtle contrasts through lighting, rugs and statement furniture bring balance to the otherwise minimal scheme. Bedrooms were designed as restful sanctuaries with zoned layouts and microcement wet room style bathrooms, enhanced by black hardware and clean lined detailing. Throughout the project, the interior styling focuses on simplicity, natural textures and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape, creating a tranquil sanctuary that blends contemporary design with the rugged beauty of its setting.
